Claridges Hotel Wedding Photographer

It seems that as a Claridges Hotel wedding photographer we are following around Gordon Ramsay managed in house restaurants at the moment! See our separate blog post about the SAVOY: Savoy Hotel Wedding Photographers to understand what we mean by that, and of course check out some of our work at other iconic central London hotels in the blog.

Sometimes it happens that as busy London wedding photographers we will invariably work with couples in the public eye or sensitive employment positions. With that in mind if you would like to see some specific Claridges wedding photos then please email or use the contact page and we will be happy to send some. (Normally you would see specific examples on a blog post!) Chances are though that you will see from the examples in our galleries, or the many images contained in this blog the kind of quality you can expect from ourselves David and Joanna as your Time Out Recommended wedding photographers. For this reason the photo above is actually from a recent wedding at The Goring Hotel London – Kate Middleton’s pre wedding venue.

On the subject of Claridges, it had a rich and varied history, and for those that are interested: it is David Beckham’s favourite London Hotel when he’s back in his home town. Claridges started as a hotel with just a single house run by William and Marianne Claridge, but by it’s official opening during 1856 (in the basic form it is today) they had bought a further five properties around it!

Starting your big day with David & Joanna London Wedding Photographers

“Getting ready”…”bridal prep”…these are just a couple of the often used phrases to describe that time when a bride is gearing up for her wedding day. But as any bride will tell you, that getting ready started months, sometimes years ago,  and the usual descriptions don’t do justice to the sense of “anticipation in the preparation” she will be feeling (we like that phrase especially as it rhymes!) Groom too of course…

West Lodge Wedding morning

It’s often quite a hustle and bustle time with all kinds of people arriving, family, bridesmaids, chauffeurs, lovely London wedding photographers like David and Joanna….as well as everything that “getting ready” really entails: makeup, hair, flowers arriving, gazing towards your dress hanging up, a trillion other things and then finally getting into it, usually surrounded by bridesmaids and mum partaking in the final big “button up”

Two things we feel are relevant to this part of the big day: firstly, it is our duty to capture all of this well and with artistry. Of course that’s a given, and we make sure we bring a combination of cameras and lenses to capture all the different flavours. Secondly, and also very important, is that we have a calming effect on the proceedings. We have been part of a large number of wedding days, and our goal is to add to the day with our experience. We work hard on your behalf, but we are calm relaxed people amid the organised chaos of the build up before the ceremony. This effect is contagious! We are your allies, and the more happy and relaxed you are, the better you will look in your photos.

It’s always good to get your tensions out of the way before leading your friends down the aisle….

Below shows a typical choice you have as far as how to display your images. Black and white often looks great for those “prep shots” and ceremony too, but as the example below shows it’s a positive problem choosing, because both look great.

Barnet Wedding Photographer? London Wedding Photographer? UK Wedding Photographers? Thinking about this we answered first with a “yes”, and then a few seconds later an equally impassioned “no”! We have worked everywhere this wedding season from local north London and Hertfordshire wedding venues, to central London, home counties, far away counties, and France….Oui!

Big Day Weddings 2019 Collage One

In todays global online village, its only right that someone searching for recommended or just great wedding photography should be able to ask the question: “Are you free for my wedding day?” Wherever a person is in the world. Long gone now are the days of only being able to walk down the local high street to the portrait studio shop front, popping in and speaking to one of the very few real choices you may have had in your area for your big day. Well that’s what we vaguely remember when we were kids…Though wedding photography is not like shopping for a best price on Amazon, it’s of course about quality that has real and enduring value over time. There’s nothing wrong with shopping for that quality, and looking as far a field as necessary. We’ve spent so much travelling through the global village of wedding photography recently that it has been hard to update this blog and post on socials as much as we would like. It is secondary to working on images and meeting new couples 🙂

Savoy Hotel Wedding Photographers

Savoy Hotel Wedding Photographers

Here is another iconic London landmark that we feel priviliged to work in as Savoy Hotel Wedding Photographers. The hotel has always looked the part throughout it’s illustrious history, but with its recent full refurbishment it now positively sparkles.

Savoy Hotel Wedding Photographers

For couples planning a wedding there we can say first hand that you will be treated with the best of attitudes the hospitality trade has to offer. You are always of course the stars of your wedding day, but with a Savoy Hotel wedding you will quite literally be Hollywood stars!

Built over 120 years ago The Savoy has been a home from home for the famous and discerning from day one. Claude Monet had a suite there and painted some of his works looking out of the windows across the Thames. The same suite became home to Charles Chaplin and US President Harry Truman. Not at the same time though! Frank Sinatra played piano for guests in the restauarant, and Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth have danced in the beautiful ballroom.

Winston Churchill hosted war cabinets meeting here, and his favourite eatery The Savoy Grill is still serving and of course is just as well respected. At present its managed by Gordon Ramsay. Our most recent Savoy wedding couple Tiana and Simon can be seen further down the page studying its mouth watering menu.

Spend your wedding day in the building that has played host to Elizabeth Taylor’s honeymoon, Peter Sellers proposal to Liza Minelli and a host of American and household names: Al Jolson, Babe Ruth, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Eleanor Roosevelt, John Wayne, Marlon Brando, Jane Fonda, Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper, Robert De Niro and Andy Warhol. Quoted by many as “the greatest hotel in the world.”

Wedding photos the Savoy

We are not just Savoy Hotel wedding photographers, we are also Dorchester Hotel wedding photographers and of course do Ritz Hotel photography. Do we have a favourite from this iconic trio? No, they are all great London wedding venues, each with a distinctly different flavour. One thing is for sure we love what we do, and we love these venues, and the history of them is facinating.

Tewin Bury Farm Wedding Photographers

Tewin Bury Farm Wedding Photographers

As frequent Tewin Bury Farm wedding photographers we are always delighted to return to one of Hertfordshire’s most distinctive and popular wedding venues.  It is no surprise to us that it was voted Outstanding Venue of the year for both 2009 and 2010. Originally a 17th century farm house and outbuildings, they have all undergone an incredible conversion to one of the best restored barns for a wedding ceremony there is. It is both dramatic and beautiful and not just for hosting a service: when turned around its a great enviroment for a wedding breakfast. Turned around again, it becomes a dance floor and performance area for romantic first dances, a stage for bands or DJ, and generally “boogieing the night away!”  The onsite bedrooms are also ideal for bride and groom’s morning preparations. Although we have photographed weddings at Tewin Bury Farm many times, our approach remains the same to keep the photography fresh, spontaneous and as always set the bar high for quality. When you have spent he time and money securing a wedding venue like Tewin, we imagine you will want the best photography of it and your once and only day that your budget will allow.
