I really appreciate being a regular Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding Photographer, for many reasons. Firstly, it’s a breathtakingly beautiful space to work in. I literally have to stop myself from drinking it all in and getting distracted by the details, the colours (lots of gold!) and the workmanship, it’s is all top notch. It’s such a memorable and romantic place to spend one of the biggest days of a couple’s life.

WEDDING PREPARATION

Though I’ve sang the praises of the chapel’s beauty and majesty, I do know from my previous visits (and also studying what others have attempted), you need to have great technique and confidence to get the best results from this unique space. Just saying… 🙂

Back to the wedding, I was delighted to be booked by Z and T based on my previous work there. What a pair of lovely really interesting people too!

Along with the usual Zoom meetings we got to understand each other better through one of my complimentary engagements shoots. We did this in the grounds of Kenwood House Hampstead, and we were able to create some great images the couple were very happy with.

The shots I’m showing here are a small selection of my own personal favourites. I delivered a full 1580 edited images to the couple. So let me know if you’d like to see them too 🙂

This particular big day started with documenting Z’s preparations at the very smart Charlotte Street Hotel. I snuck in and out a few times to capture T’s time at The Wellington pub just across the road too. All good exercise! Afterwards I jogged to Fitzrovia Chapel a few streets away to capture guest arrivals, more preparations, details etc. Then back outside for Z’s arrival with bridesmaids by traditional London black cabs.

A lovely heart felt ceremony followed, and I was pleased to see Alison as one of the registrars on duty. I’ve worked with her many times in central London. She incidentally performed the ceremony for Paul McCartneys’ most recent wedding. His second at Old Marylebone Town Hall!

After the ceremony was a drinks reception inside the chapel, which I duly documented along with some group and couple shots outside.

Later on I took the couple on a short but winding walk to good spots for shots I knew. Finally we ended back at Charlotte Street for their entrance into their reception venue: Carousel.

I recommend Carousel as a potential wedding reception venue, with good ambience, good food and super helpful staff.

After the wedding breakfast we had some very entertaining, and also moving speeches. After those came cake cut and first dance.

I stayed plenty of time afterwards, to make sure I gave the party photographic justice!

FITZROVIA CHAPEL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER REVIEW

Here’s Z & T’s Google review:

Google review for Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding PhotographerReview text reads:

“We couldn’t have been happier with David, who was creative, professional, charming, and easy to work with throughout. He was a lovely presence both on the day and in the lead up to the wedding. Going in, we had some clear ideas about the style of photographs we wanted, and he was able to meet the brief perfectly. At the same time he was full of ideas and creativity, happy to guide us to a beautiful location near the venue for some posed couple shots after the ceremony at the Fitzrovia Chapel.

During the reception at Carousel he was able to respond to whatever was happening to produce documentary-style pictures. The end results were simply wonderful – we couldn’t believe he’d been able to cover so much ground, and capture so many of the moments of the day, and make all of us look so good. He really did catch something of the essence of our wedding, and we will treasure our photographs always.”

Big Day Weddings Cartegena Spain

Did you know we shoot Weddings in Spain too? :-)

By Barnet Wedding Photographers, London venues and events, London Wedding Photographers, Wedding VenuesNo Comments

If you didn’t already know, we shoot Weddings in Spain too. We live most of the year in London, but we have a second home and base we work from near Cartegena in Mercia. That’s the beautiful port city itself, full of Roman ruins and other delights in the photo above by the way. It’s one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, and a really stunning place to host a wedding ceremony and reception. If we are not already over there, then we can get to it directly at short notice if needs be.

This is one of our Spanish Wedding Directory links below:

We cover Cartegena and the entire Mercia region, plus Alicante and surrounds too. Packages are based on the ones listed on the site here: WEDDING PACKAGES

Windsor Guildhall Wedding and Riverside Marquee Reception in Bray

By Barnet Wedding Photographers, London venues and events, London Wedding Photographers, Wedding VenuesNo Comments

I think many couples, given the chance, would love to have a Windsor Guildhall wedding. K and D came all the way from America to have their special day there, and what a day it was too! In the shadow of Windsor Castle and in the beautiful town of the same name, it’s an iconic venue, and of course where King Charles and Queen Camilla chose to get married. Not to mention: Elton John and David Furnish’s Civil Partnership as well 🙂

Our day started at the McDonald Hotel Windsor with K’s prep, along with bridesmaids and close family. The McDonald is a very nice hotel, and great too is that it is literally just across the road from the Registry.

I’d already met K and D in person, as we had a wet and windy but very enjoyable engagement shoot at Alexandra Palace in North London, and of course several wedding planning Zoom’s along the way.

When you have a wedding at Windsor Guildhall you are saying your vows in a beautiful 17th century space that houses portraits given by every reigning King and Queen of England all the way back to Elizabeth 1st! You can read more about it’s history here: Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

The internals and decor of the building are just so beautiful and grand you just can’t help feeling special while you are there. Times that by ten if you are a couple in love saying your special vows to each other 🙂

After a lovely ceremony led by registrars Julie and Katie it was time for confetti throw outside the Guildhall.  It was here afterwards that  K and D were reunited with their two beloved dogs. I’m going to name them Charles and Camilla…

We had a half an hour trip around some well known Windsor spots for couple portraits, and then it was on to a mooring by the Thames to board “The Georgian” our drinks reception boat. Sailing along the Thames with a wedding party full of laughter and love is a truly special experience.

An hour later we landed at the evening reception venue: The Riverside Marquee at Bray-On-Thames. It’s a great space with a marquee and lawns and grounds all the way to the rivers edge. It was here we had a further drinks reception, games in the grounds, and of course the wedding breakfast, speeches and a US themed dance party afterwards.

Stanlake Park Wedding Photographer

By Barnet Wedding Photographers, London venues and events, London venues and events, London Wedding Photographer, Wedding VenuesNo Comments

I love being a Stanlake Park wedding photographer, for many reasons. I love wine (in moderation!) and I love historical venues. And this wonderful Berkshire estate has both in spades. I’m no stranger to vineyard weddings both in the UK and Europe, and this is one of the best and most appealing to work at.

This particular day I worked with the lovely P and C who booked me on my “Full with David Package” and a few weeks later I delivered just under 1300 edited images to them. I’ve put some of my favourites here. If you would like  to see them all, just ask 🙂

I will talk about the different stages of the day, and also later on feature the Live Wedding Artist Joanna Constable Green who was also there on the day.

This was a day by the way that had every kind of weather from rain, storm clouds, wind and finally bright sunshine, usually with just five minutes between each one!

For your wedding day at Stanlake Park Wine Estate, the first part of the timeline is usually based around around the charming courtyard at the side of the vineyard itself. Here if the ceremony is indoors, then it will be in the beautiful grade II listed eighteenth century coach house. Nice!

For wedding prep you get the use of The Bow Loft, another historic and interesting space. P and C made full use of these for their morning getting ready, and then their celebrant led wedding ceremony. While the girls got prepaed the boys were a short walk away, through the fab vineyard to the nineteenth century barn, used for wedding breakfasts and receptions that can hold up to 150 guests. There’s also a small range of overnight accommodation too if needed.

After the ceremony and confetti throw in the courtyard (the rain stopped for a while) then it was into the drinks reception and some friends and family pics. That headed inside after a while (the rain came back), so between showers and watching the wedding artist do her thing, I was able to pop out a couple of times to do some wedding portraits with the two stars of the day 🙂

The vineyard itself is extensive, and a picturesque walled part has entrances to both the courtyard and the Vineyard Barn too. It’s a very pleasant walk between the two. In the barn we had some great socializing and speeches, and a wonderful wedding breakfast. The small red wine produced by Stanlake itself I had the opportunity to try was exceptional, and I know I will be ordering from their shop in the near future!

Speaking of drinking…the couple and some of the most daring guests played a very amusing sporty German drinking game (I think probably picked up at university) which our bride’s team eventually won. For the later first dance I’m delighted to say that P and C arranged an excellent band. I love to see live music at events and these guys definitely added to the uniqueness of the evening. A lovely day all-round.

Find a Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Photographer today

Well seen as I have worked at six Chelsea Old Town Hall weddings in the last three months, I felt entitled to write a confident blog title like ‘Find a Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Photographer today’ and to speak from experience 🙂

Bride arrives in car Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding

I thought it also about time to do a quick post of at least one of them in an increasing busy but very happy schedule!

Bride and Groom laugh inside Chelsea Old Town Hall

Chelsea is one of what I would call the “Big Three” main and famous town halls of central London. It’s busy, many couples want to get married there, and many photographers want to be the ones to do it. It’s also had it’s fair share of very famous couples too as any quick Google search will show.

Small confetti throw at Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding

I (David) find I do a real mix of wedding timelines there. Sometimes it’s near the beginning of a longer day after groom and bridal prep, then on to a reception venue somewhere else. Other times it’s four or so hours, a half day, of ceremony, couple shoot and off to a local restaurant. And other times again, usually on a week day it’s two hours of ceremony and couple/family moments.

In peak times, like weekends I’m doing eight or nine hours if it involves a London Town Hall or Home Counties venue, sometimes four in winter. Week days I’m always very happy to pop to Chelsea for a couple of hours and help make great memories.

Here I feature D and H. Nice to know that D is a wedding planner, so I was extra pleased she choose me for a two hour wedding coverage in the week. On thing I hear too often though, is people saying they wished they had booked me for longer 🙂

Bride and groom on crossing Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding day

This recent Thursday started with meeting H the groom first and then waiting for D to arrive in their Audi A8. They live in Chelsea so it wasn’t a long drive! This was an intimate ceremony with just both sets of parents involved, so a wedding party of four.

Afterwards it was three people involved in that iconic confetti throw on Chelsea Old Town Hall steps.

Though small in number the throw was still great fun.

I did some quick group shots back inside, and then took D and H to some of my favourite spots in the surrounding area. Weather wise a typical English day, sunny, then overcast, then sunny, then: is it going to rain…?

Finally H went of in the Audi to pick up their much loved dog so that we could involve him in the day and get him into some of the shots too.
